A supervolcano or super volcanic eruption is a volcanic eruption which is of such great magnitude greater that it's eruption can cause long-lasting change to weather, like the triggering of an ice age or 'volcanic winter'. A magnitude large enough to threaten the extinction of species, and cover huge areas of the earth with lava and ash.
In addition to the apocalyptic changes in temperatures around the world, a super-volcano can blast billions and billions of metric tons of sulphuric acid into the atmosphere. This causes acid rain to fall around the world.
The Four known super-volcanoes capable of Apocalyptic eruptions are:
1) Lake Taupo, North Island, New Zealand - 26,500 years ago
2) Lake Toba, Sumatra, Indonesia - ~75,000 years ago

Of particular interest is Lake Toba, where magma build up has risen land mass over 3 miles higher than it's last eruption. Is this the 2012 Apocalypse?
Asteroid or CometThe energy of an impact from 433 eros would be equivalent to 100 million megatons of TNT, 6 million times more energetic than the 1980 Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption.
The impact would eject rock from several kilometers beneath the surface of the Earth and carved out a bowl-shaped crater nearly 100 km in diameter. In addition, the shock of the impact would produce magnitude 10 earthquakes, which were greater than the magnitude of any we have ever measured in modern times. Other effects such as a tsunami approximately 50 to 100 meters high should be expected.
Near the impact crater the debris is tens to hundreds of meters thick, while it's plume reaches as far away as 2000 km. Additional material was lofted in an expanding, vapor-rich plume that included gas from the vaporized asteroid or comet. According to a new study, when polar reversal is in early stage (which is now), the tectonic plates are heavily affected by the changing electro magnetic fields and the result is change in flux characteristics affecting the gravity.
During polar reversal the equilibrium between electromagnetic forces and the gravity of the earth as well as the other parts of the solar system and the galaxy is disturbed. The net effect is unpredictable erratic behavior of the continental and oceanic plates.

NASA landed a
satellite on Eros the asteroid and have come to the conclusion that Eros will be near earth object in Earth's path around January

Eros is an asteroid 26 miles in diameter. So immense that the explosives wouldn't work to stop the bulk of the 26 mile in diameter asteroid from hitting our world. If it does it will be planet killer, The Apocalypse of 2012.

It has been about a week since I last posted anything. During that week i decided the old look was not very satisfiying and quite sloppy looking. I think the new look is much better and cleaner looking. Also I will post updates and news very soon!

Sun Hurles Whomping Solar Flare

Sol is having a bit of fusion indigestion again and has belched forth
one of the largest solar flares to come hurtling towards Earth in the
past five years, according to NASA.
NASA said in a statement that the solar flare on March 6 at 7 PM Eastern time weighed in at X5.4 on the solar flare scale. The flare came from an area known as Active Region 1429, a belchy spot in the solar surface rolled into view on March 2.
Solar flares are classified based on the energy of X-rays (in the 100 to 800 picometer range) smacking the Earth as measured in watts per square meter. A fairly strong M-class flare has 10-5 to 10-4 watts per meter of peak flux, while the top-end X-class flares generate more than 10-4 of peak flux. The scale is linear within each class, so an X5 flare is five times as strong as an X1 flare. The X-ray measurements are taken by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite system from orbit, which is operated by the US National Weather Service.
That X5.4 rating on the March 6 flare makes it the second most powerful flare since the Sun hit the lull in its 11-year cycle back in early 2007. Solar flare activity is expected to rise through 2013, provided the world (and perhaps the Sun) doesn't end on December 21, 2012 as the Maya – how convenient for them to be extinct, eh? – predicted.
A little more than an hour after the first belch on March 6, a flare
rated at X1.3 erupted from the same area of the Sun's surface. The
flares were pointing Earthside and triggered temporary radio blackouts,
interfering with radio navigation and shortwave radio, according to
NASA, and also coincided with two "significant" coronal mass ejections. A
flare from March 4 is dumping electrically charged particles in the
magnetic fields of Earth right now, and depending on how the flare is
oriented this time, we could get whacked again, and a bit stronger.
The last big flare pair was an X6.5 one on December 5, 2006, which was followed up the next day by an X9.0 whopper from the same area. There was an X6.9 flare on August 9 last year.
NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center put out its own statement, with M-class burping expected in the AR1429 region today, with the Earth's geomagnetic field to be "unsettled to active" in the next 24 hours because of all the solar activity. Everything should quiet down by Friday, and if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, might be a good time for some romantic aurora borealis viewing.
These flares and related coronal mass ejections are nowhere near as powerful as the March 9, 1989 flare, which energized a severe magnetic storm in Canada and knocked out the power grid. (The GOES system was not in use then for measuring geomagnetic storms.) And the mother of all modern geomagnetic storms, on September 1 and 2, 1859, was hot enough to shock telegraph operators directly and the aurora reached down into the tropics. ®

Mayan Light Beam Photo: Message from Gods, or iPhone Glitch?

When Hector Siliezar visited the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza with his wife and kids in 2009, he snapped three iPhone
photos of El Castillo, a pyramid that once served as a sacred temple to
the Mayan god Kukulkan. A thunderstorm was brewing near the temple, and
Siliezar was trying to capture lightning crackling dramatically over
the ruins.
In the first two images, dark clouds loom above the pyramid, but nothing is amiss. However, in the third photo, a powerful beam of light appears to shoot up from the pyramid toward the heavens, and a thunderbolt flashes in the background.
Siliezar, who recently shared his photographs with occult investigators, told Earthfiles.com that he and his family didn't see the light beam in person; it appeared only on camera. "It was amazing!" he said. He showed the iPhone photo to his fellow tourists. "No one, not even the tour guide, had ever seen anything like it before."
The photo has surfaced on several Mayan doomsday discussion forums. But was the light beam a sign from the gods — a warning about Dec. 21, 2012, the date that marks the end of the Mayan calendar cycle, and when some people fear the world will end? Or is it simply the result of an iPhone glitch? [See photo]
According to Jonathon Hill, a research technician and mission planner at the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University, which operates many of the cameras used during NASA's Mars missions, it is almost definitely the latter. Hill works with images of the Martian surface taken by rovers and satellites, as well as data from Earth-orbiting NASA instruments, and is fully versed in the wide range of potential image artifacts and equipment errors.
He says the "light beam" in the Mayan temple photo is a classic case of such an artifact — a distortion in an image that arises from the way cameras bounce around incoming light.
It is no mere coincidence, Hill said, that "of the three images, the 'light beam' only occurs in the image with a lightning bolt in the background. The intensity of the lightning flash likely caused the camera's CCD sensor to behave in an unusual way, either causing an entire column of pixels to offset their values or causing an internal reflection [off the] camera lens that was recorded by the sensor." In either case, extra brightness would have been added to the pixels in that column in addition to the light hitting them directly from the scene. [7 Things that Cause UFO Sightings]
Evidence in favor of this explanation is the fact that the beam, when isolated in Photoshop or other image analysis software, runs perfectly vertical in the image. When Hector Siliezar visited the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza with his wife and kids in 2009, he snapped three iPhone
photos of El Castillo, a pyramid that once served as a sacred temple to
the Mayan god Kukulkan. A thunderstorm was brewing near the temple, and
Siliezar was trying to capture lightning crackling dramatically over
the ruins.In the first two images, dark clouds loom above the pyramid, but nothing is amiss. However, in the third photo, a powerful beam of light appears to shoot up from the pyramid toward the heavens, and a thunderbolt flashes in the background.
Siliezar, who recently shared his photographs with occult investigators, told Earthfiles.com that he and his family didn't see the light beam in person; it appeared only on camera. "It was amazing!" he said. He showed the iPhone photo to his fellow tourists. "No one, not even the tour guide, had ever seen anything like it before."
The photo has surfaced on several Mayan doomsday discussion forums. But was the light beam a sign from the gods — a warning about Dec. 21, 2012, the date that marks the end of the Mayan calendar cycle, and when some people fear the world will end? According to Jonathon Hill, a research technician and mission planner at the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University, which operates many of the cameras used during NASA's Mars missions, it is almost definitely the latter. Hill works with images of the Martian surface taken by rovers and satellites, as well as data from Earth-orbiting NASA instruments, and is fully versed in the wide range of potential image artifacts and equipment errors.
He says the "light beam" in the Mayan temple photo is a classic case of such an artifact — a distortion in an image that arises from the way cameras bounce around incoming light.
It is no mere coincidence, Hill said, that "of the three images, the 'light beam' only occurs in the image with a lightning bolt in the background. The intensity of the lightning flash likely caused the camera's CCD sensor to behave in an unusual way, either causing an entire column of pixels to offset their values or causing an internal reflection [off the] camera lens that was recorded by the sensor." Evidence in favor of this explanation is the fact that the beam, when isolated in Photoshop or other image analysis software, runs perfectly vertical in the image.
